Should I repair or replace my roof?
There is a line of ambiguity to answering that question. If you are considering either, we will always recommend a full replacement, as the value added to your home is not only monetary, but in curb appeal, and the peace of mind is priceless.
How much does it cost or repair or replace a roof?
This cannot be answered without a thorough inspection and analysis. A multitude of factors affect the estimation process including, but not limited to:
- Height of the property
- Roof complexity (valleys, ridges, skylight, solar tubes, cable wiring, antennas, satellites)
- Pitch of the roof (how steep it is)
- Damaged wood, flashing, or other components such as masonry.
- Type of shingle
- Previous installation method
If the boards are rotted what should be done?
If we tear into your home, and the boards are rotted, we will replace them. We need a “nailable” substrate to secure the shingles. Also, if the roof sheathing is too thin – 3/8” we may be required to replace the wood due to code requirements in most jurisdictions.
How long does it take to complete the project?
Most roofs can be done in one day. We try to be as less of an inconvenience as possible. Some larger more complex roofs can take an extra day or two, and of course, commencement of the work is dependent on the weather.
